    Functional Business Analyst

    About MILLY

    MILLY is building the intelligent operations platform for people-driven businesses. We help staffing and professional service companies run their complete operational workflow in one connected platform — from placements and planning to timesheets, invoicing and payroll preparation.

    As our customer base grows, we're looking for someone who enjoys understanding how complex business processes and software applications work together. This is not a traditional customer support role. It's a role for someone who loves solving problems by going deeper.

    The role

    When a customer tells us something isn't working as expected, your first instinct isn't to forward the ticket. Your instinct is to understand what is actually happening.

    You'll investigate customer questions across business processes, data and application behaviour. You'll reproduce issues, identify root causes, determine whether something is a bug, configuration issue or product improvement, and work closely with our development team whenever changes are needed. Over time, you'll become one of the functional experts of MILLY.

    What you'll do

    • Act as a functional point of contact for MILLY customers.
    • Investigate customer questions, incidents and unexpected application behaviour.
    • Understand the customer's underlying business process before proposing a solution.
    • Reproduce issues and identify their root cause.
    • Analyse relationships between business processes, data and application logic.
    • Distinguish between bugs, configuration issues, misunderstandings and feature improvements.
    • Test fixes and think about possible regression risks.
    • Work closely with developers on functional investigations and product improvements.
    • Translate recurring customer feedback into actionable product insights.
    • Help improve documentation and functional knowledge across the MILLY platform.

    The kind of person we're looking for

    You're naturally curious about how things work. You enjoy taking a complex problem and breaking it down step by step until you understand the real cause. You can comfortably switch between talking to customers and discussing findings with technical colleagues.

    Your current title matters less than your mindset. You might currently work as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Application Consultant, Application Support Analyst or in another analytical customer-facing SaaS role.

    What you bring

    Must have

    • 2+ years of experience in an analytical, functional or customer-facing business software role.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to understand end-to-end business processes.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Ability to investigate problems independently.
    • Curiosity about software applications and how they behave.
    • Motivation to learn modern AI-assisted tools for investigation and problem solving.

    Nice to have

    • Experience with SaaS or business applications.
    • Experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Consultant.
    • Experience with staffing, recruitment, payroll or invoicing workflows.
    • Basic understanding of SQL or relational data.
    • Experience with GitHub or software delivery workflows.
    • Experience using AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
